What type of sleeper is this best for, side, back or stomach?
If could work for all and like all other White Lotus Home pillows, we would recommend getting one with a zipper so that you can later adjust it, to better meet your desired comfort preference. Most side sleepers prefer a medium fill while stomach sleepers often chose softer fill. Most of our customers are side sleepers and often go with the medium fill. If you feel that you prefer more of a firmer surface on your head, please consider the FIRM fill option. This will allow you to remove 5 handfuls of fiber at a time, allowing you to sleep better. What’s a safe way to store the kapok filling that I remove out of my pillow to make it less firm?
You can store your pillow fibers in any type of sealed bag. I usually use some of those large zip lock bags and then reuse it when I am ready. Please let us know if you have further questions.

Can these be washed?

Pillows, Duvets, and Bedding
As they are raw, minimally processed fibers, our products cannot be completely submerged in water without damaging the fibers within. This includes pillows and duvets.
We recommend spot cleaning your White Lotus Home pillows, duvets, and bedding with a solution of 3 parts water to one part vinegar. Spray the solution onto the stain and expose to sunlight. Let dry and repeat until the stain fades and odors dissipate. You can also substitute vinegar with a mild laundry detergent. For surface stains, hydrogen peroxide works well for blood, whereas rubbing alcohol can help to remove oils from cosmetics.
Bedding should not remain damp, as it may encourage uneven wear or mold growth. Following a spill or cleaning, dry any moisture by placing the item in the sun or by using a hair dryer. Ensure it is fully dry before re-adding sheets or protective covers, such as our Barrier Cloth Covers.

How can we be assured the new cotton pillow is safe to sleep on, if we cannot wash it, after so many dedicated and talented employee hands have worked on it? We are high-risk for Covid and always wash new items, at least once. This is stopping us from ordering, and we need to order. Please help. thanks for all you do to offer healthy products.
The natural scent of the organic cotton could last a couple of days to a couple of weeks depending on the sensitivity of the person. We have kept strict Covid protocols at our location since it started. Our facility is large enough to place each artisan in their own areas and masks are worn. About 99% of our staff is vaccinated and we are only open by appointment for showroom visits. We never have more than one person/family in our showroom. We take each employee's temperature at the beginning of the day and if anyone shows any signs of fever they are asked to stay home. We haven't had to send anyone home. Our pillows can be purchased with a ZIPPER and the inner fibers can be removed and the outer casing can be washed. A way to air out the organic cotton would be to place it under the sun as a natural way to refresh it. You can also put it in the dryer in the Air Only, no heat cycle. Is the cotton tested for arsenic and other heavy metals that may have accidentally contaminated it during the growing process or manufacturing process?
HI there, the cotton used for Organic Cotton is tested by us after is cultivated, but the Organic Cotton Pillows we hand make in the USA, are 100% Organic inside and out from the fabric to the cotton fibers inside. In order for any pillow and bedding product to be labeled ORGANIC, it needs to meet all of that is included in the GOTS standard. We actually exceed the requirements.

What pillow size would be the best for a six year old? We have a standard pillow in a different brand and it seems too high for her and she ends up sleeping flat on the mattress with no pillow. Would the toddler pillow be a good choice?
You may want to try the SOFT fill with the zipper so that you can adjust it if you still need to. You can start with the toddler pillow but that does measure 13x18 and that age may want a standard 20x26, possibly. So if the toddler does not work, the next option is the standard soft filled pillow.

Do your raw fibers have an odor? What is the earthy scent in my mattress and pillows?
All White Lotus Home products, from our pillows to our mattresses, are crafted from raw, untreated fibers. Many customers notice the raw cotton in particular, whose sweet smell can smell a bit like cooked rice. Depending on the style of your mattress, you may be picking up on the mild scent of our natural latex or virgin wool as well. Because our fibers are minimally processed, they maintain their original odor --- some may notice it, others may not. If left out in the open, the smell should dissipate within a week or two, depending on your sensitivity.
Our handcrafted mattresses and toppers are made with minimally processed fibers and unbleached cotton, while our pillows contain only your selected fill and an exterior case of Organic Cotton Sateen. As many of our customers experience chemical sensitivities, no added chemicals, dyes, or fragrances are added at any point in our production to either the interior fill or exterior case. We take our customer's medical needs very seriously and would never purposefully add undisclosed ingredients to our products.

Our pillows do not contain any added chemicals or fire retardants. They are handcrafted from purely natural fibers and encased in our organic cotton sateen fabric. We never add anything to any of our products including fire retardants. Pillows do not require any fire retardants either way. Hope this helps!

Does the organic cotton in the organic cotton pillow grown in the united states? Does the cotton make the pillow hot to sleep on like wool?
Yes, it is grown in the USA and GOTS certified organic. We don't feel it makes you hot and wool actually wicks moisture away, while you sleep!
Is there a label on your pillow stating that it is indeed 100% organic cotton inside and out?
No, regulations do not allow for the law label tag itself to state 100% Organic. It will state, 100% Cotton Fiber and it will have an Organic STAMP on it.
